I’ve been staring at this piece for quite awhile now, not only because I find it aesthetically pleasing, but also because the colors and imagery moves me at some deep level, spurring a sense of nostalgia of things long past, of comfort and warmth and quiet joy. Strangely, I’m not often drawn to shades of beige and my past memories do not include sailboats and sandcastles and ships; yet, my soul is there: remembering and relishing–and longing for what came before and what was. How can that be? These aren’t my memories, but most likely somebody else’s–but I am there. Thank you for sharing your art today, and for also helping me to remember the beauty, the memories of things not yet defined.
